Public Awareness Campaign concepts for the City of New York. The first campaign highlights the potential health consequences of not eating enough fruits and vegetables by juxtaposing beautiful images of fresh produce with similarly styled graphic and evocative images of disease and poor health. The chosen images have a similarity in color, texture and placements, yet their stark contrast in content provoke an emotional response in the viewer and has a lasting impact which stands out from the noise of the NYC Subway.

The second campaign centers around Human Papillomavirus awareness, encouraging New Yorkers to get their kids the HPV Vaccine. The challenge here was getting parents of pre-teens who are not yet sexually active to take preventative action on a disease that is sexually transmitted. This campaign held a particular focus on the vaccination’s benefits as a cancer prevention. I chose a band-aid to illustrate as the campaign icon, as it represents the safe and happy place after the vaccination has been given, and its versatility meant it could adapt to the various color palettes created for the campaign.
