Logo, rebrand photography concept and brochure design for Stocktrade, an execution-only stockbroking company in the UK. I wanted to produce something vibrant and exciting to enliven an otherwise dry subject. I spoke to photographer Mike Venables about the idea for photographing drops of colored inks in water. We discussed all the relevant logistics, and as I went ahead selecting a brand color palette and buying the relevant inks, Mike went ahead and built a huge custom-made glass tank. We captured the inks’ water dance in a six hour shoot, sometimes doing single ink shots, sometimes layering different color inks. When the water got too murky, we would spill it out, refill and begin again. The resulting RAW files were retouched to get the hues just right, and I then designed the twelve page brochure using the images to their full potential with whole pages of wild, exciting and mesmerizing colored ink.
